Jennifer Griesbach, LCSW-R

Hi, I’m Jennifer

I believe we all deserve to have a healthy relationships with the people around us, and that starts with our relationship with ourselves.

In my experience, therapy is one of the best ways to deepen your understanding of yourself and to become more aware of how you are in the world.  From there, you can create something in your life that you never thought was possible.

I’ve been working with people around trauma, anxiety, relationships and family issues for years, with the starting point being my own experience as an adult adoptee.  I am interested in how we come to know ourselves, grow as individuals, and make deep connections.

If you long for more health and depth in your relationships, I’d like to help you find that.

If you want to figure out how to experience more satisfaction in your daily life by experimenting with how you approach your world, let’s talk.

If you suspect that habitual ways of being are getting in the way of what you want in your life, I want to help you understand more deeply what is going on so you can change those old patterns and create new experiences.

I work with my clients on the stressors and issues that are coming up for them including:

  • making intimate connections

  • leaving relationships

  • healthy boundaries

  • knowing who you are and maintaining that knowledge in relationship (codependency)

  • loss and grief

  • sorting out complicated feelings with family members

  • search and reunion for adult adoptees

  • surviving big life changes

  • working through trauma

  • anxiety, panic attacks, social anxiety, performance anxiety

  • parenting

Let’s meet and talk about your particular struggle to see how you can get to where you want to be. Doing this with someone who is trained to help at your side makes all the difference.  I’ll be there to support you through the process, deepen your insights, and guide you through making changes in your life and relationships.  I am a gestalt therapist, which means I work with awareness and creativity to further your growth.  I also do EMDR, which is a therapy for trauma, when appropriate.

Whether you know what these are or not, the real intent is to explore deeply together and have you feel supported and guided through your process, especially if you have been feeling at a loss around what is happening in your life and you can’t figure it out on your own.

I work with adults and couples and I run therapy groups for adult adoptees.
