We belong in relationship, but sometimes relationships are hard.
You can shift that experience, beginning with your relationship with your therapist. From there, you can create something in your life that you never thought was possible.
I’ve been working with people in relationship and around relationships for years, including all kinds of nontraditional family relationships, starting with my own experience as an adult adoptee. I am interested in how we come to know ourselves, grow as individuals, and make deep connections.
If you are having difficulty creating healthy, intimate relationships or are finding that habitual patterns get in the way of the kind of connection you want in your life, I want to help you understand more deeply what is going on so you can change those old patterns and create new kinds of relationships.
I work with my clients on the stressors and issues that come up in and around relationships including:
- making intimate connections
- leaving relationships
- knowing who you are and maintaining that in relationship
- losses around divorce and bereavement
- sorting out complicated feelings with family members
- search and reunion for adult adoptees
- surviving big life changes
- working through trauma
Let’s meet and talk about your particular struggle to see how you can get to where you want to be. It’s almost too obvious to state, but doing this WITH someone at your side makes all the difference. I’ll be there to support you through the process, deepen your insights, and guide you through making changes in your life and relationships. I use a variety of strategies, including gestalt therapy, somatic work, mindfulness, EMDR and Imago therapy exercises. Whether you know what these are or not, the real intent is to explore deeply together and have you feel supported and guided through your process, especially if you have been feeling at a loss around what is happening in your life and you can’t figure it out on your own.
My fees are $220 for individual therapy, $250 for couples and families. I provide the paperwork for your insurance company for out of network reimbursement if you have out of network benefits.
