Asha Kadir, MHC-LP

Hi, I’m ASHA

I believe that we all possess the power to make lasting change in our lives. We just need the right support.  I’m happy to speak with you about my services, just fill out the form here to get started.

I know that life can be complicated. That’s why I take a holistic attitude to understanding the dilemmas my clients face, including paying attention to the importance of culture and environment. I believe that change occurs when we acknowledge the role social systems like family, religion, culture, class, gender and race play in people’s lives, not when we ignore the broader picture and focus only on the individual.  I have a special understanding and love for working with Muslims and people who identify as BIPOC or people of color.

My goal is to walk with you on your journey and provide compassionate and collaborative guidance that fits exactly who you are, while helping you move towards how you want to be in the world.

I work with people dealing with the whole variety of mental health mental wellness concerns, including anxiety, depression, trauma, spirituality, career and personal development, grief and loss, and life transitions.

I have a special love for providing counseling to international students, immigrants and refugees, including people impacted by displacement in their personal, family or cultural journeys.

I’m currently talking to prospective clients about a DBT skills group, you can learn more about DBT skills here.

How I Trained

I completed my masters’ in Clinical Mental Health counseling at Lynn University in Boca Raton, FL, where I also completed DBT Level I training.  Before that I earned my bachelors’ in psychology with Counseling Skills at Middlesex University, Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
